Heather Peterson, RN

Nurse

What is your role at Maui Recovery?
I’m honored to serve as the RN for MR. In this role, my goal is to support the team and ensure prescriptions are entered correctly. I’m also available to answer questions and provide nursing guidance whenever needed. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an important mission and to contribute in any way I can.

What is your educational and professional background?
My background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology where I worked as a counselor for young boys in an inpatient setting as well as inpatient adolescent girls. I also hold a nursing degree (RN). I’ve been a travel nurse for 12 working in the ICU. In both roles, counselor and nurse, it’s amazing to see what a person is capable of physically and mentally. I find purpose in supporting others in their journey developing healthy coping skills, overcome challenges, and recognize their ability to heal and grow.

Why do you love working at Maui Recovery?
I love working for Maui Recovery because I have personally experienced the program as a client. That experience allows me to connect with and support others who are working through their own journey of transformation and healing. I’m passionate about helping others recognizing their strengths, develop healthy coping skills and create meaningful, lasting changed in their lives. Most importantly, making sure they know they are worth it!

What are you passionate about professionally? Personally?
Professionally, I’m passionate about helping others heal—both physically and mentally. I find purpose in supporting people through difficult seasons, helping them develop healthy coping skills, overcome challenges, and recognize their own ability to heal and grow.
Personally I’m passionate about physical and mental self-care. Staying active helps me manage stress, and my experience with Maui Recovery has taught me healthier coping skills, supported my personal growth, and reinforced the importance of healing.
