What is your role at Maui Recovery? What does that look like day to day?
As Executive Director, I oversee program operations, support our clinical and administrative teams, and ensure that every aspect of care reflects the highest standards of quality and compassion. My days include collaborating with staff, strengthening programming, and guiding strategic decisions that help our clients and team thrive. I also stay closely connected to client care by leading the Science of Recovery psychoeducation group and meeting one-on-one with clients to assess how we can best support their recovery after they leave our program. What I value most is witnessing clients’ growth over time as they build healthier, more fulfilling lives.
What is your educational and professional background?
In addition to leading multiple mid-size organizations, my professional background includes 17 years in research science education with a focus on behavioral change, along with 15 years in peer counseling, where I supported individuals through complex personal and professional challenges. These experiences shape my leadership approach, blending evidence-based understanding with practical, person-centered support. I hold a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University.
Why do you love working at Maui Recovery?
What makes this program special is its depth and authenticity. It not only helps individuals develop effective coping tools and address underlying causes of substance use, but also helps them rediscover joy, purpose, and connection. I’m continually inspired by the dedication of our staff and the courage of our clients. Being part of a team that cares so deeply — and seeing the transformation that happens here — is incredibly meaningful to me
What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?
Professionally, I’m passionate about creating environments where people feel supported enough to grow, both clients and staff alike. I love witnessing those pivotal insight moments and helping individuals build sustainable paths forward. Personally, I’m drawn to creativity and nature — whether that’s painting, spending time in the ocean, or hiking with my dogs.
