Marquita Granda

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Marquita Granda

I am the Executive Director at Maui Recovery. Marquita Granda was born and raised on Kaua’i. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, where she also continued to graduate school. In 2015, she graduated as a family nurse practitioner and began working at a federally qualified community health center on O’ahu.

In 2016, Marquita moved to Portland, Oregon, where she worked in urgent care while specializing as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). After graduating from OHSU, she joined a large interventional psychiatry practice in Portland.

In 2022, Marquita returned to Hawai’i with her partner to raise their daughter and open a psychiatry practice to serve her local community. She is particularly interested in working with marginalized populations, especially those struggling with chemical dependency. In 2020, Marquita lost her younger brother to addiction. Through the years spent supporting him in recovery, she developed a deep compassion for individuals dealing with substance use disorders.
