What is your role at Maui Recovery? What does that look like day to day?

As a Program Assistant at Maui Recovery—and a former client—I bring lived experience, heart, and energy into everything I do. I help facilitate groups, support clients one-on-one, and lead offsite adventures that connect people to Maui’s natural beauty and the spirit of recovery. Day to day, that might mean taking someone on their first snorkeling trip, showing them the island’s hidden gems, or just being a steady presence when things get tough. I also help bridge the gap between the structure of the program and the soul of the experience—making recovery fun, grounded, and real.

Why do you love working at Maui Recovery?

This place changed my life. I came here as a client, and I never left—I literally moved to Maui because I fell in love with the program, the Aloha spirit, and the community of recovery that Maui Recovery introduced me to. I’ve seen people transform in 30 days. I’ve seen hope come back into their eyes. Getting to be part of that journey every day is something I’ll never take for granted.

    What is your background?

Before joining the team, I spent years at sea—working in deep water robotics, commercial diving, and as a crane technician for a Norwegian offshore company. My career took me all over the world, but nothing compares to the inner journey I’ve taken here. I know what it’s like to rebuild a life, and I use that to connect deeply with the clients I serve. Whether it’s on the beach, in the van, or sitting in group, I’m here to show people what’s possible when you surrender to this process.

What are you passionate about professionally? Personally?

Professionally, I’m passionate about creating connection, trust, and transformation. I love helping people find the fun in recovery—because joy is medicine, too. Personally, I’m passionate about the ocean, off-road adventures, and exploring the island’s wild places. And I care deeply about every person who comes through these doors—whether you’re here for 30 days or end up staying longer like I did.
